This is the first map light we designed in the 1980s was for the MLRS. It was approved by the U.S. Army in 1985.
The Soldiers that tested it at Fort Sill were so impressed by the light that they went out of their way to note on the assessment forms that the light did not wash out their night eyes — obviously a critical point.

The Phantom Map Light is low-signature and color-accurate while preserving the user’s night eyes at the same time. This versatile line-powered map light can be quickly installed in vehicles, aircraft, and in boats or ships. It uses minimal power and takes up very little room — but this compact unit packs a ton of features.
